Read the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. It is not necessary to read every word of the statute, just so you have a good working knowledge of the Act.

Read the two articles I gave you in class. If you did not get the articles, they are "How to Comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act"  and "The Problems with Online Privacy Laws" by Doug Isenberg, both at www.gigalaw.com.  [I've added links. -- jtw]

Read "COPPA, the First Year Survey of Sites". Again, it is not necessary to read every word, just so you get the general gist. Don't read all of the appendices -they're boring. But do go to Appendix III and choose two or three sites to visit. Find the Privacy Policy links in these sites and skim the policies. Do they comply with the Act?
